Renault Twingo GT: sport, but not too much

With its propulsion architecture with rear engine, it is easy to imagine a vitamin version of the Renault Twingo, more fun to drive. Two years after the launch of the third generation of city to the diamond, engineers from Renault Sport have looked into the matter, to bring forth a first vitamin Version: GT. If the previous version is declining both in GT and RS, the future of the latter is more uncertain. Not sure indeed that the height of this little car is compatible with a behavior as sharp as required by the sports department of the French manufacturer.

As it stands, the Renault Twingo GT is placed in the wake of his cousin, the Smart Forfour Brabus unveiled two months before it. The three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is here also pushed to 110 hp and 170 Nm of torque. For now, Renault announces any performance figure. The Diamond prefers to communicate in other amendments, which relate primarily to the running gear: recalibrated suspension, ESP more permissive, management review, it was a critique of the standard version. This new version promises fun even at reasonable speeds. Note that unlike the Smart Forfour Brabus, the Twingo GT adopts a manual transmission, the revised staging.

And for now, Renault remains silent on the release date, the level of equipment and rates, some features are already exposed. Thus, in addition to Deep Black, Glacier White and the Lunar Grey, the Twingo GT can take unprecedented Orange Pepper dress. Finally, 17-inch wheels are specific, with a design taken directly from the concept car Twin'Run. Some orange details underline the character of the car inside, and the gear lever knob metal.
